"The investment was well worth it. I have thrown money at things in the past with little or no value coming out of them. The Schuster Management Program paid dividends on what I gained from it."
-Dr. Carrie Hansen

Management Program
The flagship offering that has brought global attention to The Schuster Center, our renowned Dental Practice Management Program, is for dentists who:
- Own their own practice
- Have too much burnout and stress
- Collect $600,000 or more yearly
- Suffer from disorganization
- Pay too much in taxes
- Endure high overhead and lack of profit
- Still have 7 or more years to practice
- Experience high staff turnover and no time to train team
- Increase gross profit but net profit is decreasing or same
- Have advanced technical skills still sitting on the shelf
- Have experienced high costs with little return from dental consultants
(or consulting)
Available either as a phased program or in its entirety over an 18 month period of time, the Dental Management Program is dedicated largely to teaching the basics of managing dental practices and business management, so you can give your patients the care they deserve and give your life the freedom it needs. Throughout the program, as you begin implementing The Schuster Model into your own practice, a dedicated coach will guide you through the implementation process providing feedback, guidance, accountability and direction.

Getting Started
We work with the dentist in an educational and analytical process to determine what the dentist is currently experiencing in the practice and what he/she would ultimately like the practice to look and function like. This process culminates in an on-site visit to examine the practice, diagnose where the practice is healthy and unhealthy and then, together, create a treatment plan that is customized to the individual doctor and practice.
A.D.A. statistics show that the average dentist retires with approximately $249,000. Our doctors retire with an average of $2,000,000.
The average statistic doesn't have to be you. We have a custom process to find out where you are in the grand scheme of dental practice management. We provide a Practice Health Exam for your practice and then generate an in-depth diagnosis covering these five key areas:
Finance- What should my overhead be?
- How much should I be taking home?
- What is a healthy budget?
- How much will I need to retire? Where will it come from?
- Are my fees set properly?
- What is a productive schedule?
- How productive is my current schedule?
- How many patients do I need?
- What do I do if hygiene is always at capacity?
- Do I have to “sell” big cases to make more money?
- Do I have the “right” kind of patient in my practice?
- What is my case acceptance % and is this healthy?
- Do I need to sign up for insurance programs?
- Do I need to do external marketing?
- What type of practice do I want to have? Is it possible?
- How do I get my staff on the same page as me?
- How do I get things done without micromanaging?
- How do I know if I should keep someone or let them go?
- How effective is my new patient exam process?
- Do I need more technical training?
- How do I get what I already know to do “off the shelf?”
- How do I know my patients are getting healthy?
- How do I keep patients engaged in their treatment?
If you wish to gain mastery over any or all of these key areas, talk to us. Together, we can quickly identify how The Schuster Center can be of most benefit to you. Call 1-800-288-9393.
Overview
The Management Program consists of a series of Retreats, scheduled at our state-of-the-art training facility in Scottsdale, Arizona. After completing the Program, follow up with The Refresher Course
Once graduated from the Management Program, teams often find the need to revisit their learning from The Schuster Center. Whether new staff has been added or time has elapsed, The Refresher Course provides a perfect opportunity to expose any new team members to the management model as well as spark enthusiasm and bring new energy to your day-to-day activities. We offer the Refresher Course here in Scottsdale at least once yearly. However, we will bring the training to your home town if you can coordinate 5 or more groups for the session.
These are some of the reasons for attending a Refresher Course:
- New team members have not been adequately trained on the philosophy of your practice and/or the management systems in the practice.
- You are not sure if your net income is increasing each year.
- Staff meetings could be more effective.
- You need some new projects to work on to grow your practice.
- Marketing strategies have become obsolete.
- Your new patient process is not netting you the desired results.
- Your team is not sure how to track practice statistics.
- The practice is personality dependent versus systems dependent.
Here's what will be covered during this 2-day course:
- Overview of The Schuster Model for Practice Development
- Vision and Values
- Communication
- Budgeting and Statistics Review
- Appointment Book Control
- New Patient Process
- Marketing
- Team Development
- Telephone Control
The Refresher Course highlights the core Management curriculum as well as incorporating all new curriculum that has been added in the last few years. If you find yourself needing a "shot in the arm", this is the course for you and your team.
The Refresher Course is a great opportunity to get new team members on board as well as re-charge team members who have attended the Retreats in Scottsdale. This program has been structured just for Schuster Center graduates.
Refresher Course: 2 days (16 AGD Credit Hours)
